MAHALIA READER
TREASURER

Mahalia brings a unique blend of financial expertise and not-for-profit experience to Springboard Youth Academy. After achieving a first-class degree in Mechanical Engineering, she pursued the ACA qualification, becoming a Chartered Accountant. She has built a strong foundation in both the corporate finance sector and the not-for-profit space.

Her desire to create meaningful social impact led her to a role at Save the Children, where she worked as a Finance Business Partner, engaging closely with both strategic and operational teams. Having previously volunteered with a refugee charity in London, Mahalia supported newly arrived young people and deepened her understanding of the systemic challenges they face. Her experience spans frontline service and high-level financial planning, allowing her to contribute a holistic and ethically grounded perspective to her role as Treasurer.

She is committed to equity, youth empowerment, and the transformative potential of financial resources when used in service of social justice.
