Amer Raawan

Amer is a youth and community development professional with extensive experience in the charity, education, and local government sectors. He has led volunteering, mentoring, and outreach programs at organizations including SEO London and The Bike Project and is actively involved in grassroots initiatives supporting young refugees and asylum seekers. Amer has also worked within local government, contributing to youth-focused programs and policy initiatives through council projects.
Originally from Syria, Amer brings both lived experience as a refugee and professional expertise. Amer holds an MA in Gender and Media from the University of Sussex, where he was a Chevening Scholar. He is passionate about amplifying young people’s voices, strengthening community participation, and ensuring that refugee and asylum-seeking youth have access to the opportunities and support they need to thrive.
