Safura Shaharuddin

Safura is a Freelance Applied Theatre facilitator recently graduated from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. She works across a number of settings, primarily in schools, prisons, and youth theatres, using drama to create spaces for joy, emotional support, and community building with marginalised groups. Her work with young refugees and asylum seekers started in Malaysia, running drama and english groups with young children, and has developed at Springboard, using theatre as a tool to help provide support with both language and life skills. Safura began her journey at springboard as a volunteer, and quickly fell into the dynamic community of young people and facilitators, coming onboard as a summer and Saturday facilitator. She is passionate that arts based learning can serve as a way for people to build their confidence and cement relationships. In her spare time she enjoys Muay Thai and works as a Henna Artist.
