Chris is an education specialist as well as a qualified ESOL teacher. He has worked primarily with youth in disadvantaged contexts, particularly with child workers in South America and the Middle East. He is currently based in Turkey, developing alternative and informal learning opportunities for Syrian children trapped in the exploitation cycle. An experienced ESOL teacher, he believes that language learning is a fundamental step in bridging differences and bringing people closer together. He is supporting the development of Springboard Academy’s ESOL curriculum, convinced it will pave the way for young newly arrived children in the UK to become fully engaged members of their new communities and learning environments.
